Cooking with Lively

Like I lot of girls, I have an obsession with Vogue. And food (as if that wasn't obvious). While reading up on my favorite blogs via Feedly, I came across Post Grad Hair Cut, a fab blog that I read most religiously when I had the time. Of course, in all her wisdom, Samantha introduced me to a new food + Vogue web series with the beautiful Elettra on American Vogue's YouTube channel. A series that puts my favorite stars in front of my favorite things? I'm in. The episode above has Ms. Ryan Reynolds (aka Blake Lively) doing her thing in front of Brie and dough, making me envy her even more...but I forgive her, if only for the delicious recipe.

The Oscars

I can hardly believe it has already been a year since I was able to step on the Oscars red carpet myself. The opportunity was unlike anything I could have ever imagined, despite nearly getting arrested and just merely missing an interview with Tim Gunn. 

This year's festivities are expected to be a little more low-key; rather than dining at the Roosevelt, sipping on cocktails by the pool in the middle of the afternoon {like I did on Sunset Blvd recently} and catching celebrities bounce between the streets, I'll be spending the evening at home. I'm guaranteed to have a better seat than last year, but it just won't be the same.

After trying to get into the place for weeks, the girls & I finally made a trip out to Spread in North Park. Raved about my Tyler Florence, among other celebrity guests, Spread is actually all about the catering business but occasionally opens its doors to us plain folks for a little vegan treat. Served in large platters to share for the whole crew, dishes are created daily and represent the restaurant's theme: "nouveau comfort food."
